Latest GOI Efforts for Skill Development

The government of India has been taking great efforts for skill development of Unskilled youth in India. The aim of the GOI for launching a wide spectrum of Skill Development programs in our country is to train around 40-50 crores youth in different sectors by the end of the year 2022.

A special force of Ministry is responsible for the coordination and improvement of skill development programs across India. The GOI is taking steps to skill the manpower, skill upgradations of people, building and organizing vocational and technical training framework, the building of new skills and helping the youth to innovate and develop new jobs. This MSDE, Ministry of GOI is focused on skill development on a large scale with high standards in order to achieve the mission and vision of Skilled India.

One such organization is CLR Skills Training Foundation, a registered NEEM (National Employability Enhancement Mission, it is notified under All India Council for Technical Education or AICTE under the statutory body of Ministry of HR Development) Agent. CLR Skills Training foundations are sleeved up with the best strategies and methods to enhance your skill development. It conceptualizes, executes, monitors and focuses to serve industries across the country with NEEM trainees utilizing opportunity provided by NEEM scheme as laid by GOI.

The Government of India has come forward with different National Skill Development Scheme:

  • Skill Loan Scheme: The Skill Loan Scheme helps the people of India with loan support who are looking forward to pursue skill development programs in the upcoming 5 years. This scheme by the government of India to sanction almost 34 lakhs youths and have doled money between 5 thousand to 1.5 lakh for getting enrolled in various vocational programs.
  • PMKVY – Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana: It is among one of the flagship schemes offered by the MSDE – Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. It aims to enable the Indian youths to take up relevant industry-based training that will help them to secure a job and a better livelihood. GOI offers free training and assessments. The key components of the scheme are:
  • Short-Term Training: It focuses to help the Indians who are either college/school dropouts or unemployed. It provides training as per the NSQF – National Skills Qualification Framework. It helps the youth to train them with the subject of Soft Skills, Financial aspects, Entrepreneurship and Digital Literacy. Duration ranges between 150-300 hours.
  • Special Projects: It provides the platform to facilitate trainee in special areas like the corporate premises or industrial buildings to deliver practical learning.
  • Kaushal and Rozgar Mela: This leverages the candidates to actively participate in Kaushal and Rozgar Mela and National Career Service Melas held every 6 months. This maintains them to get placed in some company and earn a good livelihood.
  • Monitoring and Informing Guidelines: PMKVY helps the youth to provide placement opportunities to the trainee that are certified under the scheme. It also supports to encourage entrepreneurship. PMKVY also ensure high-quality training material with various methodologies like self-audit reporting, surprise inspections, and monitoring through the SDMS – Skills Development Management Scheme.    

National Policy for Skill Development:

  • Entrepreneurship: GOI has taken great initiatives to encourage entrepreneurship among the people It makes sure that people recognize the entrepreneurship ecosystem by coordinating the entrepreneurship efforts across the country. It also takes responsibility to manage sufficient employment opportunities for the skilled workforce.

Other various skill development programs have launched that focus to improve the employability of the Indian youth.   

 

 

Craftsmen Training Scheme: Government of India has initiated a special scheme for craftsmen. It helps to bridge the gap between the skilled manpower and requirement for the industrial and technological growth of India. The entry-level varies from class 8th to class 12th pass students while the training varies from 6-24 months.

Green Skill Development Program: It is governed by the MoEF&CC – Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change.

It involves skill development in the environment and forest sector to help the youth of India with employment. This Skill development program is committed towards the sustainable development of environment, It is held under the supervision of Sustainable Development Goals and NDSs – Nationally Determined Contributions.

 

National Skill Development Corporation:

The NSDC or National Skill Development Corporation is set up to catalyze the skill development in India. It has trained over 5.2 million students and successfully introduced vocational training institutes in 10 states all over India serving more than 2.5 lakh students. It has the following pillars:

  • Create: Developing opportunities for people by creating vocational training institutes.
  • Fund: Support with the patient capital.
  • Enable: Creating a sustainable system for skill development. It also includes the Industry led sector Skill Councils.

It aims towards:

  • Upgrading Skills to international standards by developing necessary curriculum and quality assistance.
  • Enroll in the market by bringing financing.
  • Enhance, support and supervise initiatives for skill development

CLR Skill Training Foundation: It is a registered section 8 company and enthusiast organization that actively participates in the Skill India initiative of the Government of India. It aims to serve the corporate and industries with a skilled workforce. They help to bridge the gap between the constant operational and business problems and skilled manpower.

  • CLR Skill Training foundation offers complete Skill Development, Pramod Mahajan Kaushaliya Vikas Abhiyan/Pradhan Mantri Kaushaliya Vikas Yojna.
  • Earn and learn with on-job training, Apprenticeship
  • Technical Skills Training and Employment: Provides proper technical skills and manufacturing skills as per guidelines by the PMKVY/SSC/NSDC.
  • Non-Technical Skills: Provides non-technical and service skills as per guidelines by PMKVY/SSC/NSDC.
  • Soft Skills: Nurtures the candidate with proper soft skills, entrepreneurship development, and digital literacy.

CLR Skills:

Apart from the skill development, NEEM focuses on overall development of the trainees. The NEEM Agent creates awareness among the trainees about safety measures, thereby reducing the possibility of accidents. The main objective of NEEM is to develop employable youth and bridge the gap between the industrial requirements and skilled hands. CLR Skills provides with:
