Realtors’ body CREDAI on Monday said it will train 20,000 workers in the construction and real estate sector this fiscal in collaboration with NSDC.

“Comprehending the significance of skilling and up-skilling in construction and prepping up for the post-economic slowdown period, NSDC awarded an additional target of 20,000 to CREDAI for the FY2019-20,” it said in a statement.

CREDAI made a foray into skill development in 2011 and has since trained more than 1.25 lakh construction workers under various corporate social responsibility and government schemes.

These training help workers in understanding the finer technical details of their job role, resulting in an increase in efficiency and a decrease in wastage.

Off late the real estate sector of the country has seen a slump. In order to create an economically suitable package for the entire sector it is very much important that a skills development project be created for the operational part of the sector. 

The engineers and the lowest level workers need to be trained in the latest technology and skills in order to be more productive. CREDAI, as we all know, is an apex body of private real-estate companies that are working hard towards the betterment of the sector and providing a better service to the end-user. 

CREDAI forayed in the arena of Skilling with its training program ‘’Kushal’’ in 2011 through its Pune Chapter in collaboration with National Skills Development Council. Since then, CREDAI is conducting regular On-site Training Programs for construction workers at construction sites through its member developers spread across 24 states and 156 city chapters.

In 2015, CREDAI set up a separate foundation, the CREDAI CSR Foundation (CCF)  to undertake to the skill of construction workers and youth is construction sector related job roles across the country. Since inception, CCF has skilled/upskilled more than 50, 000 workers/youth.

CCF and all other CREDAI chapters put together have so far trained more than 1 Lac trainees in over 100 construction sites in more than 50 cities. CREDAI aims to Skill / Upskill  at least 1 lakh Construction Workers in the next 2 years (2019 – 2021)
