Why most of the Engineers in India are unemployed?

NEEM ENGINEER

We produce the maximum number of engineers in the world, yet there is a problem !

According  to  a report, prepared by Aspiring Minds titled “Aspiring Minds National Employability Report” over 80 per cent of the engineering students are “unemployable,” as they seem to lack the skills for their jobs. It highlights the need for an upgraded education and training system.Engineers today need to be highly motivated and well trained in order to be productive.

Over 80% of Indian Engineers are unemployed

The thing with engineers in India is that are the victim to the syllabus being taught to them. The Indian engineering production is producing out dated engineers. This is the biggest problem that the country is facing today. The Industries are really suffering due to the skill gap. The worst hit is the software industry. Once upon a time it used to be the biggest exporter of quality service from India. Now the scene is that international clients are shunning in giving projects to Indian software companies due to lack of Skills.

Lack of relevant skills is killing the Indian business reputation. Specially when it comes to knowledge based skills like engineering. We are just producing the wrong product here. Our engineers have to go for upskilling courses to be employable. Why do they need to go for these courses in the first place. The answer is simple. Whatever they learn in college is just not relevant in the work sphere. Why cant we start teaching them whats required by the industries.

Also The Indian government needs to put a system of checks for intake in to engineering colleges. In modern business its the quality and not the volume that matters. With us the scenario is a paradox in itself. We have people with good IQ and hard work is a trait with us, but we lack the quality, and thats not because of the raw material. Its because of the factory that is producing products which the market no longer requires.

Now anybody can point out mistakes and flaws but only a few dare to work on the solutions. Government of India is one such agency which dared to work on its solution. They launched the NEEM Scheme. A great scheme which provides for talented youth getting trained with the latest in demand skills. To know more about NEEM Scheme visit: clrskills.com
