The plant operators must have the following skills and abilities:

  • Ability to use and maintain a wide array of production and processing related equipment and tools
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and security procedures
  • Trained to use the equipment installed in the plant
  • Ability to think on their feet to calmly deal with any unforeseen circumstance quickly and effectively
  • Ability to look into potential problems in the machinery and the process
  • Foresight to ensure security of the plant and co-workers and prevent any mishap.
  • Arithmetic knowledge to be able to keep records and derive inferences and results from the data collected
  • Being a sort of systems operator, full understanding of every equipment and their function so that regardless of the circumstance, the person knows what he’s doing and has everything in his/her control.
