Amalgamation of empowerment with the youth
The word empowerment is derived from ‘Power.’
Power is the capability to achieve what you want and empowerment means empower the people to make them capable to become self-dependent and give new definition to our country in terms of development.
Empowerment is the combination of three important terms these are
- Multi-dimensional
- Social
- A process
With the help of these three terms empowerment can be defined as the multidimensional social process that is intended to give more power and strength to the people. That power can be used by them to have better positive control over their life, their society and on their community circle.
We call it as multidimensional because it covers every possible dimension such as sociological, economic and psychological. Empowerment is nurturing every level of the society whether it is an individual, group or a community. It is a long journey that has a beautiful destination.
If you want to change something then you have to implement that change in yourself first. Change is a continuous process that is essential for doing requirement modifications in a system with respect to the demand of the modern world.
In order to bring a change at a larger level, huge interconnection is required. So another motive for empowerment is to build a strong interconnection between individuals and the community so that people empowering people would be possible.
If we talk about the 21st century the empowerment is considered as one of the keys to success because it is an important aspect of the human lifecycle.empowerment is required in each and every sector of today’s world as it signifies the development it can be categorized as:

How India is empowering its youth?
Youth is considered as the backbone of any nation, that’s why we also celebrate International Youth Day on 12th August in our India with the motive to encourage our youth to learn and grow and to make them realize that they are the future of our nation.
If the youth is directed and guided in the right manner then nobody can stop the nation to achieve its goals. India has a national youth policy that is has been made to resolve the constraints faced the youth.
Major objectives of national youth policy are:
It is responsible to create a skilled workforce that is able to utilize their fresh igniting ideas and provide solutions for the development of an individual as well as of a society in a sustainable manner.it basically deals with areas such as skill development, entrepreneurship, employment, and education.
It’s another important responsibility is to support youth and develop new opportunities for them irrespective of caste and gender discrimination.
If empowerment is the luxury car then skill development is its engine.
This engine drives the car and strengthens its functionality. Without skill development, empowerment of any of the sector is impossible. The growth of a nation depends on the growth of its youth.
In this era India is known for its youth power, approximately 65% of its youth is working.
To give them the right direction and training, skill development is essential that help them to enhance their own growth with the growth of their country.
That is why in India, the Ministry for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has been made to focus more to make the youth employable by nurturing them with their skills on the basis of their area of interest.
With the continuous changing world skill development is helping the youth to develop advanced skill sets to deal with the real world demand of the industries.
A skill based training provided to students on the basis of their areas of interest. Its main motive is to focus on practical knowledge more.
Why Skill Development is needed?
It is important to understand that knowledge doesn’t guarantee skill, practice does. Theory knowledge can give an imaginative structure but only practical knowledge can give a real exposure. Books are sufficient to throw light through someone else thought process but if you need to create own empire student need to come out of their comfort zone and implement their knowledge into the real world.
That’s why the science laboratories are made in the school to actually give a live demonstration about the magic of science. Only sitting into the classroom the students can only view what the world is showing to them but if they try to implement that in their life, they can surely change the world one day. Because lessons are not given in the books only, there is some lesson which is learned for life and a human mind have the capability to memorize that thing for a long time in which it was physically and mentally present and make efforts for it.
It also helps to increases the thinking capability of students.
One of the biggest issues that are limiting some brilliant minds to get an education is the financial barrier. Nowadays education is very expensive because of which everyone can’t buy dreams for their children.
Every child has his own area of interest and if they will get an opportunity to polish their skill then no one can stop them to achieve the sky. But instead of living their passion, students are suffering from mental illness because they are running in the race to fulfill the expectations of their parents and teachers.
In this competitive era, students are pushed to win the race, not even the 2nd position is acceptable by the parents and teachers.
Their life is stuck in the walls of the classroom which is restricting them to go out and fly and paint the world with their dreams.

Most of the students are investing their time to write files and assignments but not actually understanding what they are writing and what are its practical implementations.
Their mind is like they just need to pass their semester exams and that is sufficient for them.
These all are the reasons behind the unemployability in our India because every leading industry or company demands skilled and efficient employees.
This can be done by giving proper training to the youth or the backbone of our country to make them skilled.
Vocational training enables them to apply their learning through practical exposures and expertise themselves in the specialized area.
It also provides an opportunity for students who are incapable to cope with academic education. It is basically meeting the job demands by providing skilled employees.
Education should focus on providing a better and systematic way to give true definition to practical knowledge.
Government Initiatives
Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has launched Skill India Mission in 2015 to provide the benefits of skill enhancement program to around 1 crore people.
Its three major decisions are
- Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)
- National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme
- Industrial Training Institutes
All these schemes have played a vital role in the transformation of skilling ecosystem.
To meet the demand of industry, skill India is training the youth to deliver better possible output in the corporate world. They also provide on the job training to the students to give them a practical exposure of the actual workplace.
With every count of a second, a new individual is joining skill India mission, it is showing its impact in all the sectors of our society to take a step ahead towards development.
