Govt Agencies & other Schemes Working Towards Skill Development India

Skill development is a very important aspect of country growth plans. There are various skill development agencies working in India with a different set of training programmes. Let’s see the top skill development organizations, mission & schemes which are working tirelessly to provide a sustainable chance of livelihood to the people.

All these organizations work together with top-level industry bodies like CII and FICCI for a collective effort.

Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Kaushal Yojana – DDU-GKY – This skill development scheme is specially designed for the rural youth. DDU-GKY funds the different type of skill training programs especially in health, retail, Gems & jewelry & many others in the country.

Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Urban Livelihoods Mission – DAY-NULM – This scheme is basically related to the poverty & skill upgrading. Regional workshops used to organize for the street vendors and daily wages workers.

Another objective of these schemes is to enroll more urban youths in various type of courses which can lead towards a sustainable career.

National Skill Development Corporation – NSDC– It works on PPP mode, under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. The primary focus of this institute is to create high-quality training institutes around the country. NSDC grants funding to various startups, skill development programmes to enterprises, companies, and organization.

Skill India – This is the flagship programme of the central government with a complete focus on the skill enhancement of the young people.

Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act – NREGA –   This scheme was the flagship scheme of the UPA government and had provided a huge relief to the rural worker. This scheme was directly monitored by the gram panchayat.

Ministry of Labor and Employment – MoLE – It is one of the oldest among all the skill development agencies.  National career service also falls under MoLE. This provides job matching services to the youth.

Ministry Of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship – MSDE – This is the umbrella body and central communication route of all the skill development programmes running in the country. It is responsible for creating new training programmes and their execution plans as well.

They have added various other powerful skill development agencies like the –National Skill Development Fund (NSDF), National Skill Development Agency (NSDA) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

National Skill Development Agency – NSDA – It is the independent body of the Central Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, its primary motive is to get maximum skilling by 2022. NSDA works in coordination with several other agencies.

National Rural Livelihood Mission – Ajeevika skills – This skill programme is designed to understand the requirements of the youth, provide them with opportunities to upgrade their skills and join the skilled workforce of the country.

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana – PMKVY – This is a unique initiative of the central govt. The Aim of the scheme is to train 24 lakh Indian youth as per the industry standards and their requirements. The trainee will get a stipend from the government and will get the completion certificate from the authority as well.

The major motive of the scheme is to make the fresh pass out student awareness about the real world requirements and latest trends in the market about their specializations.
